This month, we’re celebrating and remembering Sky, along with two of our amazing fosters, Travis and Elaine.
Sky came into our rescue as a senior in need of immediate foster care due to her health. Two of our incredible fosters, Travis and Elaine, stepped up without hesitation and welcomed Sky into their home—where she spent the final nine months of her life surrounded by love.
Sky quickly became part of the family. Despite her health challenges, she made it clear she was the leader of the pack among her two canine housemates. She enjoyed gentle hikes and neighborhood walks, soaking in the world at her own pace.
One of the most special moments during her time with us was when she was able to reunite with the children she had been part of a family with, who loved her so much. It was a meaningful visit and brought comfort to everyone involved.
Sky kept her fosters entertained with her bossy, talkative personality—especially when it was time for dinner. She claimed all the coziest spots in the house and loved curling up in the sun. Everyone who met Sky fell in love with her sweet and spunky spirit.
Sky lived out her days with Travis and Elaine, receiving the care, comfort, and love every dog deserves. We are so grateful for fosters like them, who make it possible for dogs like Sky to feel safe, loved, and truly at home.
Sky’s story—and the compassion of fosters like Travis and Elaine—is a powerful reminder of why rescue is so important and the difference it can make—and how, together, we can give dogs like Sky the love and life they deserve.
